According to one of our sources at the label, the feud between Keyshia and Mary has been brewing for months. The insider tells, "Keyshia's always looked up to Mary, but Mary sees Keyshia as competition - and I don't blame her. Recently [Geffen] has been trying to sell Keyshia as 'The Next Mary J Blige' and Mary didn't appreciate that."
That re-branding of Keyshia Cole, or "Keyshia Clone" as she's called by insiders over at Geffen, was reportedly done by Keyshia's marketing manager at the label (who has the initials A.F.).
And this week, Mary tried to put a stop to things. According to a label insider, Mary and Kendu stormed into the office of Keyshia's marketing manager and had her fired. An eye witness to the firing explained it this way, "Mary told [A.F.] that she [was trying] to do to her what Puffy did to her back in the days [when he was] trying to make Faith a [Mary J Blige] clone. Then she [told A.F.] that she couldn't trust her and fired her on the spot."
